This design was commissioned by the University of Illinois American Nuclear Society as their merch for 2023. I was able to use their existing logo and rework it as a simplified, white alternative for the front. For the main design (on the back), I researched applications of Nuclear Science in the world and simplified them into symbols to represent each sector: the nuclear power plant and power symbol for energy production, the radiation symbol for radiography and radiotherapy, the plant stem for agricultural applications, the geode for archaeological and geological dating, lightning to represent meteorology, the planets for space exploration and research, and the burst of light in the top center shining down on the rest to symbolize the guiding purpose of science and research, to gain greater understanding of our world and make advancements for the betterment of humankind.
